Russells W-Series chambers allow manufacturers to simulate how their products will perform in the most extreme temperature and humidity conditions.

Russells W-Series humidity / temperature chambers can provide the following combination of controlled testing environments:

  • Steady state temperature and temperature/humidity tests.
  • Rapid rate temperature/humidity cycling tests (>9°F/5°C/min.).
  • Elevated temperature heat aging (>350°F/177°C).

Reach-In Test Chambers

If one of the Russells Elite G-Series reach-in environmental test chambers does not meet your needs, we will custom design a chamber that will meet your exact specifications. Russells RB/RD Temperature and Temperature/Humidity Test Chambers incorporate almost 40 years of experience along with all the latest technology. Each custom chamber is engineered for reliability, ease of operation and ease of maintainability. The end result is a rugged, durable, quality reach-in chamber tailored to your requirements.

Reach-In Environmental Chamber Performance:

  • Temperature range for single stage refrigeration: -22˚F/-30˚C to 350˚F/177˚C.
  • Temperature range for cascade refrigeration: -100˚F/-73˚C to 350˚F/177˚C.
  • Change rates from 9˚F/5˚C/min. to 36˚F/20˚C/min. (Faster rates achieved with LN2 cooling).
  • Humidity Range: 10% to 95% RH within the bounds of a 185°F/85°C max. dry bulb and a 40°F/4°C min. dewpoint.

  • Responsive expansion valve and bypass refrigerant control put all of the refrigeration horsepower to work for you.
  • Maintenance is simplified with full three sided access to base mounted system components.
  • All models available with cyrogenic cooling.
  • CE Certification on most Elite Models.

Thermal Shock Chambers - ESS Chambers

Thermal Shock Chambers

ESS is a means of screening products to expose defective parts or process problems that can't be detected upon visual inspection or electrical testing. Developed to detect product defects and production flaws in electronics manufacturing, ESS uses thermal cycling or vibration to expose failures. Environmental stress screening chambers can be used as part of the manufacturing process or they can be used in new product qualification testing.

Russells air-to-air thermal shock chambers meet the demands of today's environmental stress screening with proven performance in installations around the world. Our direct transfer method between hot and cold is an economical method to achieve rapid part temperature change for ESS or thermal shock.

Altitude Chambers

Altitude Chambers

Altitude simulation testing is important for manufacturers of products that might be shipped via air. It is especially important for defense and aerospace applications where pressure and vacuum conditions are even more intense. Russells RH-Series altitude/temperature and altitude/temperature/humidity chambers offer performance flexibility and reliablility for today's mixed-environment testing requirement. These altitude test chambers control the temperature environment for testing your product while simulating various altitude environments from site level to 100,000 feet. The same chamber can be used to simulate temperature and humidity. Russells Altitude Chambers meet RTCA DO-160 test specifications. Also meeting MIL-8106, rapid decompression for avionics cabin pressure testing. We can simulate rapid pressure change from 15,000 to 70,000 feet in 15 seconds with high-speed data compression.

Russells RH-Series chambers can provide the following combinations of controlled testing environments:

  • Altitude.
  • Temperature.
  • Temperature and Humidity.
  • Temperature and Altitude (temperature controllable to 65,000 ft./20,000 m).
  • RCTC DO-160 icing and various other combined environment testing.

Russells RH-Series altitude chambers are available in sizes from 8 cu ft (225 L) to walk-in size. A KB Engineering representative can assist you in selecting the altitude chamber configuration and size that's best for you or we can custom design any standard test altitude chamber configurations.

AGREE Chambers (Vibration and Temperature)

Agree Chambers

During transportation or at the site of the end user, a product will come under some type of vibration motion. Using vibration test chambers, manufacturers can determine if a product can withstand the rigors during its normal life span. Often, vibration testing is combined with another test criteria such as temperature, in the case of our temperature vibration testing chambers, during testing of a product.

The AGREE method of testing, an acronym for The Department of Defense Advisory Group on Reliability of Electronic Equipment, was originally designed to perform specific temperature, humidity, and vibration tests in order to improve the quality and reliability of military hardware and to conform with MIL-STD 781 and 883. AGREE test chambers are now used to perform reliability, qualification, and ESS for many industries including electronics, automotive, and telecommunications equipment.

Russells AGREE chambers meet the requirements of MIL-STD 781A, B, and also C with incorporation of our 781C option. Their proven performance in installations around the world for many years is a testament to their superior design and construction.

These chambers are designed for use with mechanical, electro-dynamic, and dual axis vibration systems. Russells assumes the responsibility for compatibility of the chamber and vibration system giving you the flexibility to use any vibe system.

The easily removable chamber-to-shaker interface is designed for ease of loading and unloading of the test items. We also offer a chamber lift system to accommodate multi-axis testing. The diaphragm and frame assembly can be easily replaced with an optional solid floor plug to allow testing without vibration, if so desired.

Battery Test Chambers

Explosion Proof Battery Test Chambers

Russells Explosion Proof Test Chambers give the maximum durability and performance for your most demanding battery test requirements. Built-in safety features will prevent the chamber from causing any sparking to protect your products and ensure operator safety. They can provide the following combination of controlled testing environments:

  • Steady state temperature and temperature/humidity tests.
  • Cycling temperature/humidity tests.
